Last month, we had a belated birthday celebration for S at Greystone Steakhouse. He specifically requested steak, which I guess we haven’t gone out for in a while. I remember reading positive reviews about Greystone Steakhouse and decided to go check it out!
The dining room was elegant and classy, with a bar in the downstairs area. We were seated upstairs, where there were more dining tables.
Complimentary Bread & Butter
Our dinner started out with some warm bread and whipped butter – always a nice beginning to a meal!
Oysters Rockefeller [$19]
It’s been a long time since I’ve had Oysters Rockefeller (last time was in North Carolina, many years ago!), so when we saw it on the menu here we definitely wanted to order this. Also, our friend A who was with us hasn’t had it before. The oysters are cooked with spinach, bacon, and a creamy dill sauce – the bacon added a really nice smokiness, and the rest of the ingredients really complemented each other.
S really wanted wagyu steak, which Greystone offers – Japanese, American, and Australian versions. The Japanese version is $20 per oz., with a minimum order requirement of 4 oz, which was a bit out of my budget. We opted for the Australian wagyu, which is $10 per oz.
